“Maple”
Maple began as an exploration in creating a style that speaks about my aesthetic. The result is a blade and handle that respond to each other’s design, creating a design dialogue; as opposed to two separate elements. The handle follows the curve of the tang, into itself and tapers in both directions, creating a swell to enhance weight distribution and assist in the pinch grip
Maple demonstrates the design intent in creating a blade and handle that is treated equally in its inception
